Short Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Service Mesh Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will design our service mesh infrastructure that forms the backbone of our microservice architecture, reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, deploy, and manage service mesh infrastructure using technologies such as Istio, Linkerd, Consul, or AWS App Mesh.
- Work with development teams to understand and cater to their service communication needs in a microservices architecture.
- Implement and manage service discovery, load-balancing, traffic management, and observability within the service mesh.
- Ensure secure inter-service communication with mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS) policies and access control.
- Respond promptly to service interruptions and assist with capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Monitor service operations to detect and troubleshoot potential issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our DevOps practices.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3 or more years of experience managing microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with network protocols like HTTP, TCP/IP, and gRPC.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools, infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio, Linkerd, Consul.
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-native stack and cloud-based environments (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
